The Youth Education Scholarship Fund is an integral part of the City Golf Championship and is established to provide financial support in the form of College Scholarships to deserving students. Graduating High School Seniors are eligible to apply for a "YES" Fund Scholarship, based on demonstrated financial need, community service and a minimum scholastic achievement of 3.0 GPA. Students must pursue a full-time course of study at an accredited College or University in the United States. (click here to download application).
The City Golf Championship Series is a Golf Tournament, produced by DCI Golf Marketing to promote the game of golf, provide players with a competitive sporting event and raise scholarship funds for the Youth Education Scholarship (YES) Fund. The event is an Annual Open Golf Tournament with two separate divisions. The Open Division is for Professional Golfers and the Indexed Division is for the best Amateur Golfers, who play in low gross competitions, within their established index margins. The tournament is single day, 18 hole stroke play competition held on an outstanding golf course in the City. Professional Golfers and Amateur Golfers 18 years of age or older (with a handicap index of 0 - 15), are invited to play in this major City Wide Championship Golf Tournament, and compete to win and be crowned The City Golf Champion(s). City residency is not requirement for compeition and all amateur handicap indexes will be verified for competition.
• "Professional Champion" - Professional Golfers 18+
• "Amateur Champion" - Golfers 18 -49 years of age
• "Senior Champion" - Senior Golfers 50 - 64 years of age
• "Super Senior Champion" - Senior Golfer 65 +
Professional golfers will be paired accordingly. All amateur players wishing to participate are required to carry a current handicap of 15 or better. Lowest medal score determines tournament champions in all Flights. Competing format will be One Round - 18 Holes, Individual Stroke Play - Low Gross Competition. Players can enter any Regional City Tournament as often as they wish. However, Winners of a gien City Championship will not be able to participate in any other City Championship during during the calendar year of their winning title. All City Championship Winners will be invited to participate in State and National event(s).
Professional golfers will compete for cash prizes. All registered amateur players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. USGA Rule 3-2 - "An amateur golfer must not accept a prize (other than a symbolic prize) or prize voucher of retail value in excess of $750 or the equivalent..." An amateur golfer must not exchange a prize or prize voucher for cash.
An Entry Fee must be paid by each Entrant. Entry Fees are per Player and include Range Balls, Greens/Cart Fee, Championship Round, "Player Pack", Skins Game, Closest-to-the-Pin Contest, Awards Ceremony, Cash Prizes & Prize Vouchers for
winners. Please see Registration Form for Entry Fees for each City Tournament. Entry Fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline. Entries fees can be paid by check or credit card.

If you withdraw up to Fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled date of the Tournament, you may receive a refund, minus a $25.00 processing fee. No Refunds will be granted, for any reason whatsoever, on withdrawals or cancellations, within (14) days of the date of the Tournament. In addition, no refunds will be granted for "no shows" or disqualifications.
Prize Money for Professionals. Prize Money is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. Tournament purses vary based on sponsors and the number of participants. The guaranteed First Place prize money with a minimum of 12 professional entries is $500. First place ties are decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately after competition and continuing until the tie is broken. Prize Money will be distributed among the top Eight(8) Finishers with a minimum field of 50 professional players.
Non-Cash Prize Vouchers for Amateurs.All amateur players receive their winnings in the form of non-cash prize vouchers in compliance with USGA® guidelines and the City Golf Championship Tournament policy. The amount of the first place prize voucher at each tournament is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. Amateur Flight Winner will receive a $300 Prize Voucher for Taylormade golf products, based on 60 player entries. Second Place in Amateur Flights will receive a $200 Voucher for Taylormade golf products, based on 60 player entries. Third Place in Amateur Flights will receive $100 Voucher for Taylormade golf products, based on 60 player entries. No Cash Substitutes for Prize Vouchers. First place ties are decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately after competition and continuing until the tie is broken. Prize vouchers for other ties are split as necessary.
