The Youth Education Scholarship Fund
The Youth Education Scholarship Fund is an integral part of the City Golf Championship and is established to provide financial support in the form of College Scholarships to deserving students. Graduating High School Seniors are eligible to apply for a "YES" Fund Scholarship, based on demonstrated financial need, community service and a minimum scholastic achievement of 3.0 GPA. Students must pursue a full-time course of study at an accredited College or University in the United States. (click here to download application).

2014 The Tampa City Golf Championship: TBA

The City Golf Championship Series is a Golf Tournament, produced by DCI Golf Marketing to promote the game of golf, provide players with a competitive sporting event and raise scholarship funds for the Youth Education Scholarship (YES) Fund. The event is an Annual Open Golf Tournament with two separate divisions. The Open Division is for Professional Golfers and the Indexed Division is for the best Amateur Golfers, who play in low gross competitions, within their established index margins. The tournament is single day, 18 hole stroke play competition held on an outstanding golf course in the City. Professional Golfers and Amateur Golfers (with a handicap index of 0 - 15), are invited to play in this major City Wide Championship Golf Tournament, and compete to win and be crowned The City Golf Champion(s). City residency is not requirement for compeition and all amateur handicap indexes will be verified for competition.

"Professional/Open Division" - Gross Champion
• "Amateur Champion" - Gross Champion, 0 - 5 Handicap Index
• "A" Flight Gross Winner - 6 to 10 Handicap Index
• "B" Flight Gross Winner - 11 to 15 Handicap Index


PARTICIPANTS & HANDICAPS
Professional golfers will be paired accordingly. All amateur players wishing to participate are required to have a current USGA handicap index ranging from 0 - 15. Players with a higher handicap can choose to play to a maximum 15 handicap. All handicap indexes will be verified for competition. All Entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. A maximum of 120 players are eligible to participate. Competing format will be One Round - 18 Holes, Individual Stroke Play. Players can enter any Regional City Tournament as often as they wish.

AMATEUR STATUS
All registered amateur players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. USGA Rule 3-2 - "An amateur golfer must not accept a prize (other than a symbolic prize) or prize voucher of retail value in excess of $750 or the equivalent..." An amateur golfer must not exchange a prize or prize voucher for cash.

ENTRY FEES
An Entry Fee must be paid by each Entrant. Entry Fees are per Player and include Range Balls, Greens/Cart Fee, Championship Round, "Player Pack", Awards Ceremony &, Prizes for winners. Please see Registration Form for Entry Fees for each City Tournament. Entry Fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline.

Players interested in entering the Tampa City Golf Championship can click on the link to the Registration Form below. Registration forms can be dowloaded and printed. All registrations must be submitted with an Entry Fee. All Entrants need to provide their most recent handicap when registering. A handicap index must be issued from a Golf Club or Association which is licensed to use the USGA handicap system. All handicap indexes will be verified for competition. Withdrawal/Refund Policy:
If you withdraw up to Fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled date of the Tournament, you may receive a refund, minus a $25.00 processing fee. No Refunds will be granted, for any reason whatsoever, on withdrawals or cancellations, within (14) days of the date of the Tournament. In addition, no refunds will be granted for "no shows" or disqualifications.

Prizes & Awards:
Prize Money for Professionals. Prize Money is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. Tournament purses vary based on sponsors and the number of participants. The guaranteed First Place prize money with a minimum of 12 professional entries is $400. First place ties are decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately after competition and continuing until the tie is broken. Prize Money will be distributed among the top Eight(8) Finishers with a field of 60 professional players.

Non-Cash Prize Vouchers for Amateurs.All amateur players receive their winnings in the form of non-cash prize vouchers in compliance with USGA® guidelines and the City Golf Championship Tournament policy. The amount of the first place prize voucher at each tournament is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. The Amateur Flight Gross Winner will receive up to a $650 Voucher for Taylormade or Nike golf products, based on player entries. Gross Winners in the Amateur A Flight and B Flight will receive up to a $350 Voucher for Taylormade or Nike golf products, based on player entries. No Cash Substitutes for Prize Vouchers. First place ties are decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately after competition and continuing until the tie is broken. Prize vouchers for other ties are split as necessary.
